Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The NRP and UNLV Psychology Department are committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for all of those who interact with the department and training program. Throughout the coursework, clinical work, research training, and mentorship/supervision special attention is given to issues of cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Las Vegas' rich population and unique environment provide opportunities for learning and engagement in diverse and inclusive practice which strengthens the quality of the learning environment, research, and clinical work that we engage in. We recognize that each individual's backgrounds, perspectives, views, and identities enrich our work as a community.
Our department's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, & Solutions (IDEAS) Committee works with faculty and students (with the Diversity & Inclusion Student Committee; DISC) to condemn systemic racism and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of our actions.
